Forge Nano can enable Lithium Ion batteries to charge twice as fast, last twice as long, and be half as likely to catch on fire through the application of ALD coatings to battery materials. Forge Nano offers the only proven high throughput Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) production tool, providing significant cost and materials savings in exchange for increased performance in Lithium Ion Batteries, anticipated to be a $77.42 Billion dollar market by 2025. Forge Nano’s tool significantly reduces labor and capital costs, minimizes waste and scales the application of ALD coatings to consumer manufacturing requirements. ALD coatings can also be applied to many consumer industries, including cosmetics, other energy solutions such as fuel cells, and Advanced Ceramics.

Special Equipment/Materials:

Forge Nano has transformed Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), addressing a technology that has been conventionally slow and expensive, hindering commercial adoption. The completely pin-hole free coatings created by ALD make it ideal to deliver consistent benefits across high volume consumer markets. In 2013, Forge Nano introduced a 3.5 tons/year production machine, the historical capacity for ALD. Today, the newest generation of production tool in development will process 2,000 tons/year when completed in 2017. This rate will enable wide-spread introduction of ALD coatings in consumer lithium ion batteries, reducing waste and creating more robust and safer batteries. As a truly drop in ready process, with no production alterations needed, Forge Nano’s material are ready to offer significant performance improvements with minimal adoption requirements.
